Tolmie is situated in the perfect position between the King Valley and the wonders of Mt Buller & Mansfield and offers plenty of things to see and do.
If you’re into history, visit the famous Kelly Tree or Powers Lookout and learn about our bushranger past. For those who enjoy the outdoors, Tolmie is surrounded by beautiful bushland that can challenge even the best 4WD, bushwalker or horseman. Mt Samaria State park is an easy 4WD adventure with fantastic views to the Paps and Lake Nillahcootie. The round trip from Tolmie to Tomahawk Hut to Lake William Hovell via Buttercup Jeep track will be sure to get your 4WD adventure thrills.
The Tolmie Tavern is currently under renovation but if you are in town Thursday or Sunday, the Tolmie Community Social Club is open to visitors and locals alike – you might be here for open mic night and get to hear some local music or bush poetry. If you are hungry you can always venture further afield to the wineries and breweries of the King Valley or try the numerous eating places in and around Mansfield or Jamison.
Tolmie is also home to the historical Tolmie Sports, which has been run annually for over 130 years. Including woodchop & equestrian events, historical displays and novelty running races, this day provides plenty of fun family entertainment.
