What to Expect at the Next Tolmie Sports Day! Feb 14 2026

Get ready for a day packed with classic country fun at the 139th Tolmie Sports! Beyond the traditional foot races and novelty events for all ages, there will be plenty to see and do. Experience unique country games like Bash the Rat, The Dong- ring the bell, the Cross Cut Saw event, Egg Toss, and Gumboot Toss. Invitational displays we have, are Mansfield SES and Tolmie CFA, sharing valuable knowledge and advice, with the CFA even demonstrating bushfire behaviour on their ˜burn table”, and Bob’s Hut which has a lot of history and memorabilia.

Witness the North East’s best axemen in action, competing throughout the day in impressive displays of speed, strength, endurance, and accuracy. The equestrian program is also brimming with novelty events, promising loads of fun for both riders and their horses. The day culminates in one of our most anticipated and loved spectacles: the Dog Jump! Come and see just how high the local canines can leap.

Food & Refreshments

You’ll find a bar, along with numerous stalls and food outlets serving up delicious, wholesome country tucker to satisfy every taste. Don’t miss the Tearooms serving traditional Devonshire teas, cakes and sandwiches. Feel free to bring your own picnic and soak up the fantastic atmosphere of a good old-fashioned country sports day.

Trigger Point for Cancellation of Tolmie Sports

After consultation with the CFA District 23 Operations Officer for the Benalla and Mansfield catchment, the Tolmie Sports Association has decided that the trigger point for cancellation of Tolmie Sports will be when the Fire Danger Rating is forecast as ‘Extreme’ or above, and the Forest Fire Danger Index is forecast to be above 70. At that point, the TSA Committee will be able to contact all relevant personnel and enact an immediate cancellation of the Sports.
